Letter: Re-elect Mayor Mike Wiza

The thoughts and opinions expressed in this letter are my personal thoughts and opinions and are not made on behalf of my employer, the Portage County Business Council.
The Stevens Point Mayor is a position that requires a deep knowledge of Stevens Point and city government, strong communication skills, a commitment to the people, a willingness to listen and a passion for the city.
In my opinion, one candidate stands out and that is Mike Wiza. He has worked tirelessly as the city’s mayor since 2015 and this experience is what sets him apart from the other candidates. He has demonstrated his commitment to the residents with his involvement in numerous activities and events.
Whether it’s in supporting local business or keeping community programs running, Mike wants what is best for the local economy to succeed. His vision, leadership, experience, enthusiasm and commitment to service is why there is no better person for the job.
He is a person that is willing to help anybody. Mention to Mike that you need a metal detector, he’ll tell you where to pick it up or in my case will bring it right over. He simply helps because someone needed it and he was able to. He listens, weighs all the facts and puts his effort behind what is best for the city.
As a resident of the Village of Park Ridge, I cannot vote for him, but as a community leader, I ask you to vote for Mike Wiza for mayor. I know he’ll put everything he has into doing what is best for the residents and City of Stevens Point on issues both big and small. It is clear that he deeply cares about the community his serves.
