Letter: Park Ridge dealing with ‘spotty’ decisions of past leaders

To the Editor-

Fresh on the heels of short-sighted and spotty decisionmaking by past leaders of the Village of Park Ridge, it certainly is a breath of fresh air to see the current board responding to the concerns of residents by putting in place a well-reasoned, thoughtful and long-term plan to address the maintenance and future needs of the village.

Many shortcomings were left to be addressed by past village administrations. Current board members are to be commended for their due diligence, tackling some long-neglected projects: Finally taking action to move forward on basic infrastructure needs; street maintenance, and fire department priorities, all while protecting a very favorable village budget and property tax rate.
