Letter: Marshfield Clinic supports passing district referendum questions

To the Editor-

Marshfield Clinic Health System is proud to announce we are officially supporting approval of both referendum questions for the Stevens Point Area Public School District this upcoming Election Day, November 6.

Voting yes on these two referendum questions will help support the district’s operational costs for educational programs and technology and maintenance. A yes vote also will allow the district to make needed safety and security improvements, update technology and remodel multiple spaces.

One of the elements most critical to the vitality of any community is the school system. Good schools attract families to come, work and live in our communities.

For organizations like Marshfield Clinic Health System, or any local business looking to attract talented people to work and live in the Stevens Point area, good schools are an essential recruiting tool. If we don’t support our schools, that advantage will erode.

A community is a mosaic where elements like education, healthcare, local government, civic organizations, local businesses and much more come together to create the environment we call home.

When these institutions collaborate and support each other, the entire community benefits.
