Letter: Jacowski helped introduce youth to hunting culture

To the Editor-

When my son Chase came to me wanting to hunt, I had a dilemma.

Neither I, nor my husband’s families did not participate in hunting. I knew that my friend Kimberly’s husband, Matt, was a longtime hunters’ education instructor who mentors disabled veterans and youth on hunts.

When I asked Mr. Jacowski if he would take Chase hunting, without a second thought he agreed. He didn’t just take Chase hunting; he taught him all aspects of hunting from sighting-in, scouting, to caring for the game after the harvest.

I have offered to compensate Matt for all of his time and efforts and he just says that “Chase’s smile is payment enough.”

Matt Jacowski’s willingness to help others and his compassion for doing what is best for our youth, our future, is why I ask you to join me by voting Jacowski for Portage County District 22 Supervisor April 3.
