Letter: Council candidate grateful for support

To the Editor-

I ran for Alderperson for District 5 in Stevens Point. While I did lose the election to Meleesa Johnson, I think we did well.

Getting 40 percent of the vote is good for someone running for the first time and not widely known in the public arena.

Thank you to all who have supported me, whether it be canvassing, praying, helping with videos or scripts, or financial support.

My sincere hope is that Meleesa will consider the concerns of all her constituents. It is important to fight for what is best for the city as a whole, not just the financial interests of a few.

We need to keep praying for this city and state and get involved in the local government. People need to serve on committees and run for office.

While I don’t like how the election turned out, God does have a plan.
