Letter: Chojnacki will improve sheriff’s office

To the Editor-

I’m voting for Florian Chojnacki for Sheriff.

It’s time for a positive change in Portage County. I have worked in mental health and substance abuse services for over 20 years, Florian Chojnacki has many ideas on how to make improvements to these issues.

I have seen firsthand that we have an opportunity to improve collaboration between law enforcement and the mental health system. We need a strong leader with fresh ideas.

During the sheriff’s candidate debate hosted by the League of Women’s voters, I listened to the current sheriff when asked about substance abuse treatment after or planning an inmate’s release, he stated the wait time could be several weeks to months this is not true.

Florian Chojnacki will be a great addition to building community improvements and has the willpower, honesty, positive attitude, and ideas for mental health and substance abuse. Join me on August 9 and vote for Florian Chojnacki, Jr. Thank you.
