Letter: Candidate relays positive experience at Democrats’ HQ

To the Editor-

I would like to relate a few of my experiences as of late while running for District 3 County Board Supervisor.

Over the last couple of months, some inaccurate posts have been made in reference to me on social media, assassinating my character by a couple of Progressive members who belong to the Democratic Party of Portage County.

Through the last seven months, while working on the Bus. 51 road project petition, I have interacted with thousands and thousands of people across Portage Co., and am happy to say that not only do the majority of residents I talk to support the Aug. 9 referendum, but it has been clear it is 100 percent non-political. That is great to see, considering the divide that we have both locally and nationally.

Recently, I stopped by the Democratic Party headquarters to pick up a yard sign and had an awesome experience. The volunteers were very polite and professional. I had a nice chat with District 1 Alderman Marc Christianson and left feeling comfortable.

The main reason I am writing this letter is to let everyone know that the small handful of people using derogatory remarks towards myself and the School Board candidates is not reflective of the Democratic Party.

I do not belong to any political party and consider myself nonpartisan. I wish the best for all candidates running this spring and hope that our community can heal and grow as one.
