Lake Pacawa Park receives irrigation upgrade as part of ongoing redevelopment
PLOVER – Crews began installing a new irrigation system at Lake Pacawa Park this week, the latest upgrade in a multi-phase redevelopment effort aimed at improving one of the village’s most popular public spaces.
The new irrigation system, focused on the soccer field areas, is expected to be completed early next week, weather permitting. The $20,000 project is being completed by village staff and funded through the Park Improvement Fund.
“We are installing irrigation in the soccer field areas,” Plover Public Works Manager Scott Klemm said on Friday. “This project will complete the last remaining area in the park that is heavily used and will help keep the park looking green and inviting for public use.”
The upgrade replaces the park’s old water wheel system, which required more staff time to operate and monitor.
The work comes as part of a broader $4 million redevelopment of Lake Pacawa Park, funded through tax increment financing (TIF) and private donations.
The first phase, completed in 2018, added a bandshell, cul-de-sac entrance, and open green space for public events.
Phase two, finished in 2022, brought accessible kayak launches, fishing piers, new parking, upgraded walking paths and beach areas, and an inclusive playground with a splash pad.
Phase three of the redevelopment began in August 2024 and includes six pickleball courts, additional parking, new lighting, and infrastructure for future amenities. It marks the final phase funded by TIF dollars, though further improvements may still be considered.
Additional water safety features are also being considered for Lake Pacawa itself.
