The Friends of McDill is hosting the first annual “Dining on McDill”.
The special event will raise funds to help pay for expenses of an upcoming dredging project on McDill Pond.
Participants are encouraged to hit the water in their prop or paddle boats and stop for a variety of meal options, including pulled pork, floating tacos, grilled cheese fries, “Best Bloody BBQ”, drinks, and an ice cream bar, available for purchase at a number of stops around the pond.
The event will be held Saturday, June 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will include 50/50 paddle poker for $10 a hand.
Funds raised from the event will be used for funding the McDill Dredging Project expenses. A map of stops and launch sites is available at mcdillpond.com or on the McDill Pond Facebook page.
The Mcdill Inland Lake and Rehabilitation District contains about 176 properties surrounding McDill Pond throughout Stevens Point and Whiting. The pond is also popular with kayakers and anglers.
