Lagers and Loggers returns to Pfiffner in October
By Patrick Lynn
Prepare to roll out the barrels and don your finest flannel attire for the Portage County Historical Society’s second-year flagship fundraising dinner, “Lagers and Loggers,” presented by the Boldt Company.
This exclusive event brings together the culinary delights of the renowned Rockman’s Catering with the time-honored brews from Point Brewery, which stands as Stevens Point’s oldest company and one of the nation’s oldest breweries.
Mark your calendars for October 4, as the historic Pfiffner Building at 401 Franklin Street in Stevens Point serves as the backdrop for the evening.
The three-course dinner will feature “hearty fall fare,” with beers that complement each flavor.
Live bluegrass music from Art Stevenson and Dale Reichert will keep guests entertained before and after the dinner, sponsored by Heartland Custom Homes.
“Last year was a major success for this event and the Historical Society,” said PCHS Executive Director John Harry, “We’re looking to build on that momentum so we can offer even more local history programming and resources to the community.”
Section 715 Axe Throwing will be on site before dinner and guests will have their chance to play hammerschlagen to really get into the evening’s theme. There will also be a wide array of items and baskets available through a silent auction.
Guests are encouraged to wear their very best lumberjack flannel attire. Tickets for “Lagers and Loggers” are extremely limited and on sale now via pchswi.org/lagers. This is a 21+ event. Any questions can be emailed directly to Executive Director John Harry at [email protected].
