Jude M. Aubut, 73

Jude M. Aubut, 73, of Stevens Point, died peacefully on Feb. 9, 2025.

Jude Michael Aubut was born on July 3, 1951, in Edgerton, Wisconsin, to the late Antone and Agnes Aubut (née Curran). He was the third of six children. He attended Watertown Public Schools and graduated from East High School in Madison in 1971.

He married Ramona Kozicki on April 20, 1974. They lived in Madison, where he worked at Stieve’s Mobile as a gas station attendant and mechanic. In July 1979, the couple moved to Stevens Point, where he worked at Lullabye Furniture Co. In the spring of 1986, they purchased their first home in Amherst. Aubut then began working at the Waupaca Foundry, serving as a lead person until 1999. That summer, he started a new role as a maintenance technician at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point, where he worked until a heart attack and stroke in 2005 forced him into medical retirement.

Aubut spent the past 19 years in and out of care facilities due to his illness. He most recently resided at Point Manor in Stevens Point.

He will be remembered for his quiet, quirky sense of humor and his efforts to make people laugh. He enjoyed fishing, bow hunting, playing guitar, biking, golfing, playing chess, and watching television. He and his wife especially cherished their evenings around the fire pit. He treasured his wife, children,n and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ramona; children, Aimee Biwersi; Jessica Giese (Rob), Antonya Hogan, and Luke Aubut (Lorianne); 17 grandchildren; brothers, Mark and Paul; sister, Rita; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Caroline Brewer; and brother, Patrick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 800 Fourth Ave. in Stevens Point. The Rev. John Potaczek will officiate. Visitation will be held in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9 a.m. until the service. A rosary will be prayed just before the funeral Mass. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
