Joy Marie Garski, 67
Joy Marie Garski, of Rosholt, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 7, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
A memorial service for Joy will be held at noon on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, 3200 Stanley St. Rev. Francis Dias will officiate the service. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Joy was born on June 21, 1958, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Myron and Idele (Kubisiak) Kenowski. She was a graduate in the class of 1976 from Wauwatosa High School. She met the love of her life while visiting her aunt’s potato farm where Mike worked. After a year and a half of being in a long-distance relationship, they married on April 24, 1976. Soon after being married, their son Troy was born and her family was completed by the arrival of their son Brian two years later. Joy had a long career working for St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point for over 45 years.
Joy loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, planting flowers, traveling and going out for a nice meal. She was also known to spoil her dog Pixie. She was someone that everyone could turn to for wisdom and advice.
Joy is survived by her mother, Idele; loving husband of 50 years, Michael; sons Troy (Jacklin) and Brian (Darlene); granddaughters Hanna (fiancee Aiden) and Natalie; sisters Renee (Kuljit) Dharni, Lisa (Richard) Durante, and Heidi (Tom) Moore. She is further survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Myron; father-in-law, Walter; mother-in-law, Harriet; sisters-in-law Judy Olds, Virginia Golke and Karen Garski; brothers-in-law Lee Wagner, Rick Wagner and Jim Golke.
Joy’s family would like to extend their thanks to all of the doctors and nurses for taking good care of her.
