John Herman Jr., 91
John Herman Jr., 91, of Stevens Point, passed away on Sept. 25, 2024, at Stevens Point Health Services.
John was born July 4, 1933, in the Town of Stockton, to the late John and Mathilda (née Gosh) Herman. He grew up in the area and began farming at a young age.
On Nov. 19, 1955, he married Lucille Groholski, and together they continued farming on their homestead in Arnott. In addition to farming, John worked in manufacturing, truck driving, and construction. After retiring, the couple moved to Stevens Point, where they enjoyed traveling, motorcycle riding, and spending time with their grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife of nearly 69 years, Lucille; their sons, Jeff (Kathy), Randy (Karen), and Norm (Cindy); eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mathilda; his brothers, Raymond Rogowski, Edward Rogowski, and Myron Herman; and his sisters, Ramona Konkol and Ann Britz.
The family extends special thanks to Stevens Point Health Services and Compassus Hospice Services for their care and support.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1709 Wyatt Ave., Stevens Point. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church, with burial to follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
