Joan F. Woyak, 89
Joan F. Woyak, née Minch, age 89, of Stevens Point, died Jan. 22, 2025, while under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Joan was born March 28, 1935, in Blenker, Wisconsin, to the late Ignatius and Anna Minch. She attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School. Shortly after, she began working as a legal secretary at Anderson O’Brien Law Office, where she remained for 44 years until her retirement.
She married Ralph J. Woyak on Nov. 5, 1960, at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The couple shared 64 years of marriage.
Joan will be remembered for her loving persona and devotion to her family. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, square dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, bowling leagues, and the St. Stephen and St. Peter Catholic Churches.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph; children, Tom (Lynnette) Woyak of Stevens Point, Kathy Benchwall of Stevens Point, and Mary Pezewski; grandchildren, Amanda (James) Worzalla, Jason (Katie) Pezewski, Brian Pezewski, Scott (Ella) Pezewski, Zach Woyak, Noah Woyak, Ayla Woyak, and Ean Woyak; and great-grandchildren, Savannah, James, Nolan, Lyle, Lukey, and Chloe. She is further survived by siblings Kathy, Ron (Grace), Fran, Grace, and Linda, along with extended family.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Helen, Mary, Betty, and Dorothy; and her son-in-law, Jeffrey Pezewski.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Visitation will be held in the Faustina Room from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
