Jeff “Mac” McBride, 63

Jeff “Mac” McBride passed away at age 63 on January 16, 2022, at the Crossroads Care Center in Weyauwega, Wis. from complications from brain surgery.

Jeff was born November 24, 1958, in Milwaukee, the son of Donald R. McBride and Joyce (Triggs) McBride. Jeff grew up in New Berlin, Wis., graduating in 1977 from New Berlin Eisenhower High School.

Jeff was a top athlete earning three letters in football and four in swimming. Jeff was all-conference in football and held school records in swimming. He also qualified for Junior Nationals in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. when he was 14.

Jeff attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and remained to live in the Stevens Point community for the remainder of his life. For many years, he played rugby and many of his teammates remained friends for life. Jeff tended bar at several local establishments which allowed him to meet many people in the community. He then worked at General Beverage (changed names multiple times) for about 30 years.

Jeff was dedicated to his Labrador retrievers, first Saber, then Sky, and finally Ruger – taking them to Standing Rocks Dog Park every day. They also accompanied him (along with other friends) on many hunting trips to North Dakota and all around Wisconsin.

Jeff is survived by his brothers John and Glen McBride along with close friends Seth Pionke, Steve Henske, Jeff Jester, Step-mother Judi Hammond, nephew Ben, nieces Sarah and Kelly along with numerous cousins and other relatives.

Funeral Services for Jeff will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022, at Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St., Stevens Point. Friends and family may gather to share memories from 3 p.m. until the time of services on Friday at Shuda’s.
