James “Jim” P. Martin, 80

James “Jim” P. Martin, 80, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Funeral services for Jim will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St., Stevens Point. Friends and family are invited to gather to share memories from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral chapel. A private family burial will be held at Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Jim was born Sept. 4, 1945, in Wausau, to Ludwig and Rose Martin. He grew up in Marathon City and graduated from Marathon High School in 1963. He lettered in wrestling, a sport he enjoyed during high school.

After high school, Jim attended North Central Technical College and graduated with an accounting degree. He was employed at United Parcel Service and worked there for 27 years until retirement. Jim married Donna Myszka on Sept. 19, 1970, and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

Jim was an antique car and Corvette enthusiast. In his free time, he loved spending time with his family, being outdoors and many summers on Lake Nokomis in Tomahawk. He greatly looked forward to deer hunting every fall and took several trips out West for elk. He enjoyed playing golf and watching the Packers, Brewers and all other Wisconsin sports teams.

Jim is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Wendy (Korey) Hackman of Plover and Jeff (Stacey) Martin of Custer; grandchildren, Casey (Lindsay) Hollar, Emily Hollar, Abigail Martin, Logan Martin, Alex Hackman and Mckayla Hackman; and great-grandchildren, Colby Hollar and Emily Sutheimer. He is also survived by one brother, Edward Martin of South Carolina; two sisters, Lenore (Owen) Brady of West Bend and Joan (Lavern) Stencil of Marathon City; two sisters-in-law, Grace Martin of Kimberly and Anita Martin of Tomahawk; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ludwig and Rose; brothers, Louis Martin and Charles Martin; and sisters-in-law, Joanne Martin and Sue Myszka.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital and Marshfield Medical Center for their exceptional care and compassion.
