Individual who tested positive for COVID visited Plover gas station

An individual who later tested positive for the coronavirus visited a Plover gas station on Thursday, May 28, according to Portage County Health and Human Services.

The county sent out a media notice on Tuesday afternoon “in partnership with the owner of Plover Express Mart.”

The individual, who was not identified, is currently in isolation, according to the news release.

Anyone who was at Plover Express Mart, 2621 Plover Rd. in Plover, on Thursday, May 28 from noon to 6 p.m., is strongly encouraged to monitor themselves for any symptoms, including:

• Fever and chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath
• Loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Fatigue and body/muscle aches
• Diarrhea, vomiting and nausea

Anyone with questions or concerns, or who would like to be tested for COVID-19, should contact the county health dept. at 715-345-5907 or [email protected], or contact their health provider.

The county is continuing to remind residents to practice frequent handwashing, wear facemasks while in public, and maintain social distancing.
