Icy conditions delay garbage pickup in Plover

PLOVER — Garbage and recycling pickup in the Village of Plover has been delayed by one day after icy road conditions prevented crews from operating safely Tuesday.
Village Administrator Steve Kunst said Waste Management notified the village on Tuesday afternoon that it would not be able to complete collections due to ice.
Residents should treat the delay like a holiday schedule adjustment, Kunst said. Homes normally served on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, Wednesday routes will move to Thursday, and so on.
Kunst said collection times may vary, as Waste Management services routes throughout the day, sometimes into the early afternoon or later, depending on location.
The delay comes amid widespread weather-related disruptions across central Wisconsin, as freezing rain and icy conditions impacted travel and services throughout the region.
