The Portage County Historical Society and CREATE Portage County will host an outdoor movie screening event on Sept. 30.
Paying homage to the history of women in sports, the two organizations will present an outdoor screening of “A League of Their Own” on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at historic Heritage Park in Plover.

The screening underlines PCHS’s new feature exhibit, “We Just Wanted to Play: The Story of Women’s Athletics in Portage County.” The exhibit offers insights into the challenges faced and milestones achieved by local women athletes and will be open for one hour prior to the start of the film.
Showtime is 6:30 p.m. at the park, 2700 Madison Ave. in Plover. Admission is free but Portesi Pizza and Point soda will be available for purchase.
Attendees should bring blankets and lawn chairs. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
