High schoolers to compete at UWSP on Saturday

Area high school students will gather at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday, Feb. 18, to test their science knowledge and skills as part of the Science Olympiad’s North Regional Tournament.
Seventeen teams from 14 schools will attend, taking part in three competitions: Science knowledge, team problem solving, and construction and technology, including the building of bridges, levers or, electric detectors. Area schools include Wausau East and West, Mosinee, Marshfield, and Almond-Bancroft.
Those who qualify will go on to the State Championship in Milwaukee from March 31-April 1, and possibly the National Tournament in Wichita, Kan., May 19-20.
