Helen B. Klismith

Helen B. Klismith, Town of Stockton resident, passed away January 15, 2022, peacefully at home.

She was born November 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Schelke) Kresh. She attended local schools and was married to Benedict J. Klismith on May 26, 1947, at Saint Peter’s Church in Stevens Point.

She and her husband farmed and she worked for many years for the University food service. Over the years she was a caregiver to many.

She will be remembered for her love of her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Helen enjoyed gardening and maintained beautiful gardens for as long as she was able. She rarely made a visit empty-handed and often brought her special molasses cookies to family.

Helen is survived by a daughter Carolyn “Cookie” Klismith of Washington state; a daughter Judith Ann Cover (Ken) of Plover; a son Michael (Rachel) of Minnesota; a son Jeffrey (Donna) on the family homestead; and a son Stephen of Colorado. In addition, she is survived by a niece, Mary (Kresh) Klenk; a nephew, Ted Kresh, both of whom she helped raise. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. Helen also leaves behind a sister, Martha Schulfer.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben, on December 14th, 1995; a son, Bill in 1982; a son, Jim, in 2002; a sister, Irene (Kresh) Wayerski; brothers Frank Kresh and Joseph C. Kresh; and a great-granddaughter, Rose, in 2015.

Per her wishes, no services will be held and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Helen’s wishes were for any donations received to be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Donations can also be made directly to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Inclusa and Compassus Hospice for their wonderful care.
