George “Red” Prondzinski, 84

George Prondzinski, “Red,” as he was known in earlier years, passed away at age 84 on Saturday evening, August 17, 2019, at The Bridges of Appleton, Wis.

Funeral services will be held at Stahl Funeral Home, W7452 State Road 21/73 in Wautoma, Wis., on Saturday, August 24, 2019, with visitation at 12 p.m., a eulogy at 1 p.m. and luncheon immediately following. Burial service will be private.

George had five children by Kathleen Prondzinski (deceased): Allen (Nancy) Prondzinski of Wautoma, Debbie (Martin) Bolwerk of Menasha, Robert (Sophie) Prondzinski of Miami, Manitoba, Canada, Gene Prondzinski of Wautoma, Tammy (Tom) Royer of Hamilton, Montana; and he was blessed with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

After being born and raised on a farm in Custer, Wis., with nine siblings, Dad supported his family with his carpentry apprenticeship that he acquired in Milwaukee while working for his brother Hubert Prondzinski about 1960.

He took great pride in building stick homes over the decades into retirement. As he moved the family over the years from Green Lake to Berlin, Minn., for a year then Wautoma and Plainfield, he kept us kids busy and satisfied his desire to farm by having several acres to raise various cash crops, and some years even had vegetables to sell at the Wautoma farm market for a few years.

He finally settled in Wautoma, living in homes he and Allen built with a garden out back, sharing its abundance along with a little humor.

His legacy continues to live on in many ways in each one of us children.
