Genealogy workshop to help residents trace Revolutionary War ancestors

STEVENS POINT — Local history enthusiasts and family researchers will have an opportunity to explore their ancestry during a free genealogy workshop at the Portage County Public Library this month.

The Stevens Point Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will host “Finding a Patriot in Your Family Tree” from 10 a.m. to noon on June 6 in the Pinery Room at the library, 1001 Main St.

The workshop is designed to help participants identify potential Revolutionary War patriots among their ancestors and learn techniques for researching family history.

The event is free and open to the public.
