Free Programs at Schmeeckle All Month

From Wisconsin’s birds to wildlife tracking, there is something to discover in December through free programs at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Schmeeckle Reserve.
December programs include:
- Birrrrds Braving Wisconsin Winters, Saturday, Dec. 2, 1-2 p.m. Learn how birds survive the cold weather in our state.
- A Robin’s Story, Sunday, Dec. 3, 1-2 p.m. Explore the reserve for robins and learn about their journey, then find out how to make cookies that robins enjoy.
- Nature’s Gliders, Thursday, Dec. 7, 6-7 p.m. Discover the two kinds of flying squirrels that live at the reserve and enjoy fun, interactive activities.
- Retracing Their Steps, Saturday, Dec. 9, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Become a wildlife tracker and reconstruct the stories of outdoor friends by collecting clues.
- Mona Lisa Mallard, Tuesday, Dec. 12, 6-7 p.m. Find the connections between ducks and art and create a Mona Lisa Mallard of your own.
Taught by UW-Stevens Point students, these programs meet at the reserve’s Visitor Center, located at 2419 North Point Drive unless otherwise noted.
