Francis A. (Adolph) Eiden, 81

Francis A. (Adolph) Eiden, of Stevens Point, died early Friday morning, Jan. 12, 2018 at the Atrium of Stevens Point.

He was 81.

Francis was born Aug. 23, 1936 in the Town of New Hope. He was the son of the late Adolph and Hattie (Dombeck) Eiden. Francis attended Malloy School. Francis entered the United States Army on Dec. 1, 1959 in Stevens Point.

He served as a PFC-E3 with the A Battery, 83rd Artillery Battalion. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 15, 1962 as an early release returnee from overseas at Fort Hamilton, New York. He then served with the Army Reserves for three years being discharged on Nov. 30, 1964 in Stevens Point.

Francis worked for the Stevens Point Area School District as the district maintenance supervisor for over 35 years until his retirement in 2001. After his retirement Francis enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors, loved wood working and was an avid Packer fan where he could socialize and visit with friends, and loved eating out at his favorite restaurant, the Springville Wharf. His most precious time was making maple syrup with the help of his grandchildren.

Francis shared his life with his loving friend Marie Repinski for more than 36 years. He was blessed with two children and six grandchildren and many friends whom he cherished. Francis adored his family and always had a smile for his grandchildren. He was often found captivating them with his stories of his many adventures. Francis was a long time member of the Stevens Point Evening Lions Club.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Francis’s name will be established at a later date.

Francis is survived by his loving friend and love of his life for over 36 years Marie Repinski; his son Kelly (Marie) Eiden of Amherst; and their children Alyssa, Sawyer and Nicole; and his daughter Tracy Bartels of Monticello; and her children Madeline, Matthew and Mallory. Further survived by one brother, Albert (Mary Ann) Eiden of Custer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Paul; an infant; and Gabriel “Gabe” Eiden; and a nephew Scott Eiden.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery in Polonia.

Family and friends may call from 4-7 PM on Monday at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second St., Stevens Point and from 9:30 AM Tuesday at St. Stephens Church until the time for mass.
