Festival Foods partners with Salvation Army for Red Kettle Campaign

By Patrick Lynn

PORTAGE COUNTY — Festival Foods is teaming up with The Salvation Army once again this holiday season to support local communities through the Red Kettle Campaign.

The initiative raises funds for the organization’s year-round programs, which address hunger relief, financial assistance, housing support, and youth empowerment.

In 2023, Festival Foods shoppers across Wisconsin donated more than $442,000 to the campaign. This year, donations can be made at Festival Foods registers from Dec. 2 to Dec. 24, with 100% of the funds going directly to The Salvation Army. Shoppers can contribute by adding to their grocery totals or by placing donations in the iconic red kettles outside the stores.

“We are pleased to partner with The Salvation Army and in its efforts to support local programs,” said Mark Skogen, Festival Foods president and CEO. “Community giving with neighbors helping neighbors is one of our values.”

The Salvation Army is also calling on volunteers to help ensure the campaign’s success. Shifts can be scheduled in one-hour increments, and individuals, families, schools, service clubs, and businesses are encouraged to participate. Interested volunteers can register online.

Festival Foods, a Wisconsin-based family- and employee-owned grocer, operates 42 stores across the state and employs more than 8,000 associates.
