Evelyn “Evie” Wimme, 74
Evelyn “Evie” Wimme, age 74, of Plover passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2022, at her home.
A Mass of Christian burial for Evie will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church,- 1709 Wyatt Ave., Stevens Point. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes will officiate. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather to share memories on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St. Stevens Point. A General Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at church.
Evie was born June 26, 1947, in Stevens Point, to Edward and Elaine (Repinski) Milcharek. Evie attended St. Peter’s grade school and graduated from P.J. Jacob’s in 1965. After graduation, she worked at Saint Michael’s hospital and Sentry Insurance.
She married the love of her life, Patrick Wimme, on July 19, 1969, at St. Peter’s church in Stevens Point. She was a dedicated wife and mother to their two children, Kyle (Karen) Wimme of Stevens Point and Julie Wimme of Plover, and a loving grandmother and Nanee to her five grandchildren, Kayla (Jordan) Zinkowich, Alizabeth, and Zachary Wimme, and Izabella and Addison Kluck.
Throughout the years she was an avid bowler, helped out at the schools, played bingo, volunteered at the church, enjoyed up north adventures with friends and family, spent time with her grandchildren, enjoyed going to physical therapy and meeting new people, her monthly lunches with her sisters and cousins, playing cards, reading, scrabble and words. She loved helping people and doing what she could for others.
Evie is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her sisters Elaine (Terry) Tepp of Plover and Susan (Jim) Firkus of Montello, her sister in law Elaine (Bill) Nysted of Green Bay and her many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Evie was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law Gilford and Marie Wimme, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard and Eleanor Wimme, Gerald and Marlowe Wimme, John and Nancy Wimme, and Nancy Golla.
