EPA implementing cybersecurity in sanitary surveys workshop webinar

On March 3, 2023, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a memorandum stating that states must evaluate the cybersecurity of operational technology used by a Public Water System (PWS) during sanitary surveys. The memo explains various approaches to include cybersecurity in sanitary surveys or other state programs.

The EPA is sponsoring a free workshop (both in-person and virtually) in Chicago, IL on June 22, from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The workshop is centered around implementing cybersecurity into sanitary surveys and is targeted to state primacy agencies, but water system representatives are also welcome to attend. Topics to be covered at the workshop include selecting the best assessment option based on program resources, considerations for building the program, and cybersecurity program execution and assessment.
