Elks donate to Family Crisis Center

Metro Wire Staff

Several members of Stevens Point Elks Lodge 641 spent May 30 shopping for the Family Crisis Center.

Using funds from its charitable organization, Elks Foundation, the group spent $500 on household goods, cleaning supplies, nonperishable food, and gift cards. The items were then delivered to the domestic abuse shelter on West River Dr.

The Elks regularly donate funds to community-based nonprofit organizations throughout each year including the annual Cops-n-Bobbers kid’s fishing day, the Salvation Army Hope Center, Royal Family Kids Camp, local elementary schools, as well as other groups throughout the year.

The FCC provides assistance to victims of domestic violence and their families, friends and care providers. Operating by CAP Services, services include the shelter, 24-hour crisis line, walk-in counseling, and referrals, free of charge.
