Elizabeth “Betty” Rose Kluck, 91

Elizabeth “Betty” Rose Kluck, formerly of Stevens Point, died peacefully March 11, 2025, at Unity Hospice in De Pere. She was 91.

Betty was born Feb. 5, 1934, in Amherst Junction, the daughter of Calmer and Rose (née Gladowski) Abrahamson. She grew up in the area, spending summer days at Lake Emily and attending local schools before graduating from Amherst High School.

Following high school, Betty moved to Stevens Point, where she began working at Hardware Mutual, later known as Sentry Insurance, as a secretary, tour guide and phone operator. Soon after, she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” J. Kluck. They married on Jan. 28, 1956, beginning a lifelong adventure together. The couple spent Friday nights at Pete’s Silver Coach and the Hot Fish Shop, and weekends boating on the Wisconsin River.

In 1967, they embarked on their greatest adventure—parenthood—welcoming a daughter, Susan. Betty became a proud stay-at-home mom, taking great pride in providing a loving home. After Bob retired, they spent winters in Arizona, where they made lasting friendships. While Bob golfed, Betty and her friends enjoyed time by the pool and shopping, gathering in the evenings for dinner and good company.

In 2006, Bob and Betty moved to Green Bay to be closer to their granddaughter, Caroline. Though leaving their beloved hometown was difficult, they cherished the time spent with family. They attended every special event, and as Caroline grew older, she and Betty became inseparable shopping partners. Avid Packers fans, Bob and Betty rarely missed a home game from 1994 to 2006 and attended Super Bowl weeks in New Orleans and San Diego.

Throughout her life, Betty had a gift for making people feel welcome. Her home was a hub of activity, with neighbors frequently stopping by for coffee and conversation. Block parties and garage sales were annual events. She also volunteered for many years at St. Stanislaus Church and School. Above all, family was most important to Betty. Weekends were often spent at the family lake, and she made frequent trips to Milwaukee to visit relatives. In her mother’s later years, Betty ensured she received the best care possible.

Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan E. and Lance Broberg of Green Bay; her granddaughter, Caroline E. Broberg of Green Bay; and many dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; her sister, Margaret Lepak; and her brother, Newman Abrahamson.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Aurora Hospital in Green Bay and Unity Hospice for their dedicated care. They are also grateful for the prayers and support from family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Unity Hospice in honor of both Bob and Betty at unityhospice.org/donate.
