Eleanor was born March 23, 1938, in Stevens Point, the daughter of Nick and Helen (Eiden) Kabachinski. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1956. She worked at Hardware Mutual for two years.
Eleanor married Richard Wimme on April 12, 1958, at St. Stephen Church. From the start, they completed and balanced each other.  They resided in Stevens Point and within three years had grown their family to include four spirited daughters. Eleanor managed the home—nourishing the family with care, activities, guidance, occasional discipline, and most of all, love. She was even president of the local Twins Club in 1963. Eleanor’s family eventually grew to include sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she loved and spoiled.
Eleanor led an active life filled with weekly bowling, petite filets, brandy manhattans (with cherry juice), gardening, card parties, and travel. Her favorite trips were with her family, including trips to Florida, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. Eleanor had a quick wit and loved to laugh. She was fond of nature, and especially found harmony at the family lake cottage in the Town of Barnes, Wisconsin. She was a caring, generous, and fun wife, mother, grandma, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Eleanor is survived by her four daughters: Linda (Steve) Pudroski, Stevens Point; Diane (Clark) Slipher, New Berlin, Wis.; Jean (Darren) Gibson, Ada, OH; Joan Wimme (Rick Lewis), Stevens Point; nine grandchildren: Kelly, Cody, Stewart (Brittney), Sally, Emily (Steven), Erin, Meghan, Robin, Matthew;  two great-grandsons: Jackson and William; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Richard in 1989, four sisters and their husbands: Irene (Bob) Eiden; Dorothy (Tom) Schultz; Lorraine (Nubbs) Schultz; Ethel Kabachinski.
The family thanks the staff at Maple Ridge Memory Care and Heartland Hospice for their loving care of Eleanor.
