Eau Pleine woman dies after UTV incident

TOWN OF EAU PLEINE — A 62-year-old woman died Wednesday after she was injured in a UTV incident on private property in the Town of Eau Pleine.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office was called at about 4:31 p.m. Aug. 19 to a property near Dubay Colony Road after receiving a report that a woman had been injured by a UTV. Multiple emergency agencies responded and attempted lifesaving measures.

The woman, who was a Town of Eau Pleine resident, died as a result of her injuries. Her name was not immediately released.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were not disclosed. The Portage County Sheriff’s Office and Portage County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating, and Sheriff Mike Lukas said additional information will be released later.

Stevens Point Ambulance, Stevens Point EMS, Rudolph Emergency Medical Responders, Rudolph Fire Department and the Portage County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted at the scene.
