Easterseals names Plover resident to executive position

A Plover resident has been named as the new senior director of transportation and mobility for a national disability assistance organization.

Carrie Diamond of Plover is now the senior director of Transportation and Mobility for Easterseals, Inc. In her position, she also serves as co-director of the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center. The NADTC is a national technical assistance center based in Washington, D.C. that promotes the availability and accessibility of transportation options to meet the needs of people with disabilities, seniors, and caregivers across the nation.

The organization is funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation and supports the Americans with Disabilities Act and its implementation.

Diamond joined the Easterseals organization in 2020. She previously operated a one-call transportation hub at the Portage Co. Aging & Disability Resource Center, where she implemented a mobility management program and travel training service. She has also worked as a transportation and volunteer specialist for the Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources, Inc., which oversees aging programs in 70 counties and 11 tribes across the state.

Diamond provided technical assistance, training, and funding oversight for transportation and volunteer programs and developed specific expertise in non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) and volunteer driver programs.

Diamond is certified as an ADA Coordinator, receiving her credentials from the University of Missouri College of Human and Environmental Sciences. She is also certified as an Information and Referral/Assistance Specialist in Aging and Disabilities through the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems.
