Dylan James Heck, 20

Dylan James Heck, of Bancroft, passed away June 21, 2018, three days after his 20th birthday.

He left us doing something he loved- riding his motorcycle down backroads. He was born June 18, 1998, the son of Darrell and Jeni (Woiak) Heck. He attended both Almond-Bancroft and Amherst high schools and graduated from Amherst High in 2016, very proud of four visits to Madison for state athletic accomplishments.

He was attending UW-Platteville studying electrical engineering and was currently employed at the Waupaca Foundry in Research and Development.

Dylan was a proud member of the Wisconsin National Guard where he was just about to be promoted to Specialist. He was incredibly intelligent and loved spending time in the garage rebuilding vintage vehicles and restoring motorcycles with his dad and friends.

He also enjoyed lifting weights, working with his hands, and hosting fires for his friends. Faith was very important to Dylan and he spent Sunday mornings at St. Maximillian Kolbe.

Dylan is survived by his parents Darrell and Jeni, and his older sisters, McKenna and Teagan. He also leaves his grandparents Richard Woiak and Elaine Heck. He is also survived by his many close friends from the military, school and throughout his travels in life.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 27 at 3 p.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe, 8611 State Highway 54 in Almond. Immediately afterward we will be celebrating Dylan with a meal at Amherst High School, with military honors on the football field promptly at 5:30 p.m. His family asks that you bring smiles and stories, and wear Amherst apparel or bright, happy colors.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to a scholarship that will be established in Dylan’s name.

Dylan would appreciate that you genuinely compliment friends and strangers alike and every day brighten someone’s life—carry on life the way he did.
