DWD accidentally doubles some pandemic unemployment payments

The Department of Workforce Development on Friday said it accidentally disbursed double payments for some applicants of the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation program.

The double disbursements occurred on Thursday in some US Bank accounts, according to a press release from the DWD.

The DWD says it was a “technological malfunction” and the double payments have since been removed.

“DWD is rectifying the error and working with US Bank to redistribute appropriate funds as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience,” the DWD said in its release.
