Downtown food truck festival canceled

The Pineries Food Truck Festival scheduled for August 28 at Pfiffner Pioneer Park has been canceled.

The announcement was made on social media Tuesday by organizer Sarah Ashley. The first-annual food truck festival was slated to bring “food, beer, arts & more from across the state of Wisconsin” to the city’s riverfront.

“We are definitely not excited to announce this, but due to various reasons, we are going to have to cancel this year’s event,” Ashley said.

Organizing the event with only a few people who also have family obligations and full-time jobs, among financial constraints, were the group’s biggest challenges, she said.

“Our goal is to come back next year as we take some much-needed time off to build our vision for what this festival might become and work on every single detail to bring you a great event,” she added.
