Donation made for families of infants in local NICUs

Metro Wire Staff

Prevail Bank has donated $500 to help purchase the books provided to families who have an infant at a local Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The funds will go to Elliot’s Little Library, an organization that provides the books as a means for families to bond with their newborns who may be sick or premature. NICUs with book wagons provided by Elliot’s Little Library are Marshfield Children’s Hospital NICU, the Anya Marie Jackson NICU at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital NICU in Stevens Point, and the Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital NICU in Appleton.

The provided funds were part of Prevail Bank’s Charitable Contributions program. The funding is available to nonprofits that help local low-to-moderate income households; stimulate communities financially; provide financial literacy; and/or enhance the standard of living of those less fortunate. Any organization interested in applying should go to Prevail.bank/resources/community.

Elliot’s Little Library is named for Elliot Victory, who was born at 25 weeks and one day, weighing one pound, 12 ounces. He spent 96 days in the NICU and his parents read to him nightly.
