Donald J. Alexander, 80

Donald J. Alexander, 80, of Stevens Point, died Jan. 19 at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital.

Alexander was born July 13, 1944, in Brooks, Wisconsin, to Sherman and Frances (née Haskins) Alexander. He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1962 and went on to earn a degree in medical technology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1966.

He married Rosalie Robinson on Feb. 25, 1967, and the couple celebrated nearly 58 years together. They lived in Beaver Dam, where they raised three daughters. Alexander worked in health care for 41 years, starting in laboratory work and later moving into nuclear medicine.

An avid inventor, Alexander was known for his creative mind and love of tinkering. He contributed to several developments, including medical devices and vehicle enhancements, and was listed on multiple patents. He was part of AlexSin Manufacturing, where he worked on asphalt recycling methods.

Alexander enjoyed wildlife and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie; three daughters, Dawn (Dave), Kimberly (Tim), and Lynn (Jack); and grandchildren Alexandra, Lilianna, and Kate. He is also survived by his brother’s family—Melanie, Mark, and Maria (Chris)—and Rosalie’s siblings, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Leland.
