Diane Marie (née Jakusz) Koback, 74

On Saturday, September 17, 2022, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away with her family by her side.

Diane Marie (née Jakusz) Koback was 74 years young and was born on September 18, 1947, to Leonard “Murphy” and Irene (née Laskowski) Jakusz.

Diane met the love of her life, Stephen J. Koback at Wanta’s Bowling Alley. It was there that their love story began. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on July 9, 1966, at St. Bronislava Church in Plover. Stephen survives her.

Diane enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, reading, and cheering on the Packers, Brewers, and her grandkids at their various events. She loved sitting by the dining room table on holidays and telling stories. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin and floating on the lake on the pontoon. Her family was her pride and joy. Together, Diane and Steve raised four handsome men; Joseph (Kathe), James (Renee), Keith “Skeeter”, and Kevin (Jennifer).

Diane is survived by Stephen, their four boys, their daughters-in-law, and 10 grandkids; Casey (Brittany), Kendra (Shane), Derrick (Nicole), Danielle (Jason), BriAnn (Dakota), Dalton (Anna), Bryce (Brittanie), Devin, Deacan, and Dayden. Holidays were a time Diane truly enjoyed watching the grandkids grow up. Fifteen great-grandchildren added to the holiday fun as well; Cheyllen, Bentley, Kenzlie, Brayden, Lucas, Paisley, Millicent, Addilyn, Owen, Easton, Aurora, Bennett, Beau, Nash, and Erin. Diane is further survived by her sister, Sandra (Larry) Coulthurst, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Diane was preceded in death by her father and mother.

Funeral services will be held at St. Philip’s Church in Rudolph on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10:30 a.m. Friends and family may gather to share memories at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point following the service.

Diane’s family wishes to thank all of the health care providers who cared for her at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Stevens Point, and Weston along with Edgewater Haven, Portage County Health Care Center, Compassus Home Health Care, and Aveanna Home Health Care for all of their dedicated and compassionate care.

God has a new angel in Heaven. May she watch over all of the loving family she left behind. She will be greatly missed.
