David L. Pringle, 87

David L. Pringle, age 87, of Stevens Point, died Aug. 5, 2025.

David was born July 23, 1938, in Goshen, Ind., to the late Everett and Charlean (née Loder) Pringle. He grew up in Goshen, attended the local grade school, and graduated from Goshen High School in 1956. He attended Indiana University, graduating in 1959, and went on to graduate from IU Medical School in 1963. He interned at Orange County General in Orange County, Calif., in 1964.

David married Carol Ann (née Rader) in Whittier, Calif., in 1964.

He was inducted into the United States Air Force that same year. During his service, David became a flight surgeon with the 523rd Fighter Tactical Squadron in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1966.

Following his service, he completed his medical residency at the Presbyterian Medical Center in Denver from 1966 to 1969. He accepted a position in Stevens Point and joined the medical staff at the Rice Clinic in 1969, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring in 1999.

David will be remembered for his driven and adventurous spirit. In his spare time, he enjoyed aerobatic flying, skiing of all types, biking, fishing, hunting, and traveling. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed working on them. Family was also important to David; he always gave them love and support. His caring and altruistic nature will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Pringle; children, Lisa (Rick) Hansen and David (Monica Carrillo) Pringle; grandchildren, Ryan Hansen, Samantha Hansen, Aurelia (Carlos Badillo) Carrillo, Tomas Pringle, and Alejandro Pringle; great-grandchildren, Elena and Giveon; and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Cathy Christman presiding. Visitation will precede the service at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A time of fellowship will follow.
