David F. Bean, 79

David F. Bean, age 79, of Vesper, Wis., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 6, 2021, in Stevens Point.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at St. James Catholic Church in Vesper. Rev. Nathan will officiate. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church. A Parish Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Dave was born November 22, 1941, in Wisconsin Rapids to Everett and Elsie (Adams) Bean. He graduated from Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1959. Dave served in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Berlin Crisis. He married Susan Vollert on February 4, 1967.

Dave was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. in the Biron Division, retiring as a machine tender after 41 years of service.

Dave was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church and the Vesper Fire Department. He enjoyed his men’s coffee clutch at the Vesper Café and going to Jo-Jo’s for an ice-cold Pabst Blue Ribbon. He also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and watching Packer games. He looked forward to his annual Minnesota fishing trip with family and friends.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Susan; four children: Brenda (Ken) Stashek of Vesper, Tammy (Kevin) Kruger of Wisconsin Rapids; Greg (Kristi) Bean of Stevens Point, and Becky (Jeremy) Ruesch of Little Chute; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Nancy) Bean; in-laws: Charlotte Bean, Carol Kobza, Fritz (Jeanne) Vollert, Wendell Eastling, Irv (Sharon) Vollert, and Alice (John) Homelvig; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell Bean; and sister, Rosanna Wellnitz.
