Darlene A. Biese-Schultz, 75

Darlene A. Biese-Schultz, age 75, of Stevens Point, died Thursday, August 8, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

She was under the care of Ministry Hospice.

Darlene was born on July 30, 1944, in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Sweek) Maciejewski. Darlene attended local schools graduating from Maria High School in 1962. After high school, she attended Kent State University and graduated with a bachelor of science in journalism/advertising in 1979.

Her marriage to Richard Biese took place in 1964. He preceded her in death in May of 1989 and she married her soulmate, David Schultz on May 31, 1996, at the Chapel in the Woods in Waupaca.

Darlene was self-employed as owner of an advertising and writing service. She survived AML diagnosed in 1999 and retired to write novels and teach a fiction writing course to seniors at the Lincoln Center. She enjoyed reading, writing, fiction, poetry, photography, gardening, all music, and dancing. She is survived by her husband David Schultz of Stevens Point; daughter, Tahnia Hutton of Hermitage Penn.; step-children, Kelly Disher and Duane Schultz.

Also survived by four grandchildren, Richard Ols III, Kaila Biese, Ashley Frame, and Kandis Medley; three step-granddaughters; April, Baylie, and Riley; three great-grandsons, Daven, Allen, and Colten; and brothers, Gary Maciejewski and Lloyd Maciejewski.

Darlene was an incurable optimist and thought she was happy—and she was!

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019, at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second St. in Stevens Point. Deacon Vern Linzmeier will officiate. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
