Two local symphony programs are teaming up for a new fundraising event.

Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra and Central Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra Program this week announced they’ve organized a family-friendly event designed to promote their local classical music programs.

Family Fanfare will include “sweet and savory” treats, according to a news release from CWSO, as well as a silent auction with items for all ages, while musicians from the orchestra, and its student-performer counterpart, entertain with classical selections.

The event will be held 2-4 p.m. at the Stevens Point Country Club, 1628 Country Club Dr., on Sunday, April 28.

“The objective of this event is to create a multi-generational, family oriented musical event with the intent to celebrate classical music and perpetuate a life-long love of music through community engagement and enrichment,” the release reads in part. “Community and family engagement is at the heart of both of our organizations with a shared vision of nurturing the love of music at any age.”

Tickets are $5 per person, or $15 for a family of four, and may be purchased with check or cash at the CWSO office, 800 Main St., during regular business hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
