cwACT to Present ‘Matilda: The Musical’ in Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT – Central Wisconsin Area Community Theater (cwACT) will bring the beloved story of Matilda to life with its upcoming production of Matilda: The Musical.

Adapted from Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book and the popular 1996 movie, the show celebrates courage, resilience, and the power of imagination.

The musical, directed by Ryan Branwell, will feature local talent from across Central Wisconsin. Branwell praised the dedication of the young cast.

“Directing Matilda the Musical has been an absolute joy,” Branwell said. “The energy and talent of these kids are nothing short of inspiring. Their hard work is turning this production into something truly special.”

The stage adaptation follows the story of Matilda, a brilliant girl with a love of books, a vivid imagination, and the determination to stand up to her tyrannical headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. With the help of her friends, Matilda proves that even the smallest person can change the world.

The show will be performed at Sentry Theater, located at 1800 Northpoint Drive in Stevens Point, with performances on Oct. 25 and 26 at 7 p.m., Oct. 27 at 2 p.m., and Nov. 1 and 2 at 7 p.m.
