Culture & Agriculture exhibition returns to downtown Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT — The 38th annual Culture & Agriculture Exhibition will open March 7 at Gallery Q in downtown Stevens Point, featuring artwork from across the country.

The exhibit includes 56 pieces created by artists from 14 states, including 36 artists from Wisconsin. Organizers said this year’s application process showed growing national interest, with submissions coming from 21 states.

The exhibition will run through April 2026. An opening reception is scheduled for March 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Daniel John O’Neal, the exhibition’s juror, said the artwork reflects the deep connection between people and agriculture.

“Farming, at its heart, is an act of devotion — a daily promise made between human hands and living soil,” O’Neal said. “I hope that the voices of these talented artists, which have made me smile, reflect, and wonder, will regenerate your spirit as they have mine.”

Eight cash awards totaling $2,850 will be presented, including Best of Show, People’s Choice, first, second and third place, along with honorable mentions.

This year, the Best of Show award will honor Ann Waisbrot, a former director of New Visions Gallery at Marshfield Clinic and a leader in establishing the Culture & Agriculture exhibition.

Supporters of the exhibit include Alacrity Wealth Advisors, Dawn Brandt/KPR Brokers, Stevens Point Area Festival of the Arts, Lori and Dan O’Neal, Erin Prais-Hintz, Mary Therese Murphy, Wysocki Family Farms, Elise Thornton and Buzz in Art Studios.

Gallery Q Artists Cooperative is a member-owned fine art gallery in central Wisconsin that operates under a juried system. The cooperative focuses on supporting professional artists while providing opportunities to exhibit and sell regional artwork.

The Culture & Agriculture exhibition explores the many ways artists interpret agriculture, including the land, livestock, labor, tools and traditions connected to farming.

The opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. March 7 at Gallery Q in downtown Stevens Point. The exhibit will remain on display through April. For more information, visit culture-agriculture.com.
