Metro Wire Staff

CoVantage Cares Foundation has announced the kickoff of its annual two-week fundraising campaign.

The event will begin Tuesday, Nov. 29, which has become known nationally as “Giving Tuesday,” and will end on December 13.

Funds generated will be matched with up to $175,000 in contributions from CoVantage Cares Foundation, a public charity established by CoVantage Credit Union. Local non-profit organizations to receive funding from this year’s campaign were selected by CoVantage staff and are located throughout the communities served by CoVantage Credit Union.

In Portage County, Friends of Emerson Park is the charity chosen to receive the funds.

CoVantage Cares Foundation was established as a way to provide financial support to organizations that serve individuals, especially those experiencing significant financial challenge, and organizations that work to enhance the quality of life in communities served by CoVantage Credit Union.

Individuals and businesses do not have to be CoVantage members to donate. Those interested in giving to the campaign can mail a check made payable to CoVantage Cares Foundation, PO Box 107, Antigo, Wis. 54409; or drop off a check or cash to any CoVantage location.

CoVantage members can make an online donation through MyCoVantage digital banking or mobile app.

Other charities selected to receive funding from the seventh annual Giving Tuesday initiative by CoVantage branches include: Achieve Center (Wausau, Rib Mountain, Weston, Rothschild); AVAIL (Antigo); Elcho Fire and Rescue (Elcho); Crandon Area Community Foundation (Crandon); Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing-Frederick Place (Rhinelander); Forget Me Not Fund (Shawano); Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin (Appleton, Neenah, Menasha); Paul’s Pantry (Suamico); DAR Boys & Girls Club (Menominee, MI); Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp (Crystal Falls, MI); and West Iron County Volunteer Fire Department (Iron River, MI).
