County to hold Monday hearing on HHS budget

Metro Wire Staff

The Portage Co. Health and Human Services Board is holding its annual public hearing to take public input on next year’s budget.

The budget hearing is required under Wisconsin State Law. The public is invited to provide their input on the county’s development of its health and human services department and scope and delivery of service.

Portage Co. HHS Director Ray Przybelski said county officials are still working to finalize numbers for the 2020 county budget, and those figures will not be presented on Monday.

Przybelski called Monday’s hearing “a chance for citizen’s to give us input on what services they would like the department to include in the budget or if there are specific programs they would like discontinued, they can give that opinion as well.”

The county’s HHS board will also be able to provide its input, he said.

The public hearing will be held in Conference Rooms 1 and 2 of the Portage Co. Annex, 1462 Strongs Ave., at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 12.
