The Republican Party of Portage County will host several primary candidates during its June 14 open house.

The county’s grassroots GOP group will see 11 Republican candidates in the August primary attend the Tuesday event. The group will hold a formal grand opening from 5-8 p.m., partnered with an onsite brat fry.

Members of the public are invited to attend and have face time with Republican candidates Adam Fischer and Timothy Ramthun for governor; Roger Roth, David Varnam, Cindy Werner, and Kyle Yudes for lieutenant govenor; Karen Mueller for attorney general; Amy Loudenbeck and Jay Schroeder for secretary of state; and John Leiber and Orlando Owens for state treasurer.

Event organizer Jackie Scehner said the group was “thankful and excited” to host the candidates and to invite the public to see its new office space. The grand opening is the group’s largest event of the summer season, she said.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for those attending to hear directly from our Republican candidates prior to the August 9 fall primary—and it will be an outstanding celebration marking the opening of our new office,” she added.

The new office is located at 1001 Brilowski Road, Suite B, in Stevens Point.
