Corrine M. Montgomery, 93
Corrine M. Montgomery, 93, passed away peacefully June 10, 2026, under the care of Heartland Hospice at North Ridge Assisted Living.
Corrine was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Stevens Point, to the late Harold and Selma (Yach) Strong. She attended local schools and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1950. Corrine worked at Weber Fly Factory. On July 27, 1953, she married Robert Montgomery at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Corrine and Robert enjoyed traveling together and attending car shows as members of the Stevens Point Old Car Club. They treasured the friendships and memories they made through their shared love of classic cars.
As a devoted homemaker, Corrine dedicated her life to caring for her family and raising her four children: Marilyn, the late Michael, Maureen and Michelle. She found great joy in spending time outdoors, tending to her gardens and working on all types of crafts. Corrine looked forward to attending church picnics, especially enjoying a game of bingo. She had a special fondness for all things Harry Potter and could often be found watching one of the movies. Above all, Corrine treasured time spent with her family and the many memories they created together.
Corrine is survived by her three daughters, Marilyn Bembeneck, Maureen (Bill) Horst and Michelle (Leonard) Thrun, all of Stevens Point; eight grandchildren, Melanie (Scott) Stancyzk, Jenny Bembeneck, Michael (Kristine) Horst, Bob Horst, Laura (Bob) Lippert, Jimmy Bembeneck, Jackie (Joe) Pionek and Elizabeth (Nathan) Fink; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a niece, Barb Strong; and a lifelong friend, Mary Ellen Bemowski.
Corrine was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Michael; her parents; her brothers, Lawrence Strong and Richard Strong; her sons-in-law, Daniel Horst and Clifford Bembeneck; and her great-grandson, Christopher Thrun.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2151 Stanley St., Stevens Point. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
