Clifford “Cliff” King, 66

Clifford “Cliff” King, 66, of Mosinee, died Saturday, May 8 as a result of an automobile accident.

A public visitation for Cliff’s friends and family will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St. in Stevens Point. A private funeral service will be held for Cliff later.

Also, a community memorial for those who worked with Cliff and wish to pay respects is scheduled at Skyward on Monday, May 17 from 2-5 p.m. at 2601 Skyward Dr., Stevens Point.

Cliff was born in Stevens Point on July 11, 1954, to Stanley and Helen (Zelewski) King. He grew up in Stevens Point and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1972. After high school, Cliff joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Germany. Cliff was always proud to have served his country.

After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Cliff attended UW-Stevens Point. He graduated in 1983 with a Business and Economics degree. While attending UW-Stevens Point, Cliff met his future wife, Karen (Wilk). They were married on June 16, 1979. Cliff and Karen were blessed with two children, Megan (Justin) Kramer and Tom (Heather) King.

Cliff touched the lives of many throughout the years. He was involved in several community organizations over the years and was a proud employee of Skyward for 38 years. Cliff retired from Skyward in December 2018 in order to spend more time with his family and beloved grandchildren: John and Abigail Kramer, and Natalie and Kaelyn King.

He loved watching the grandkids’ dance recitals, sporting events, and school programs. Cliff also loved playing golf, was an avid Packer’s fan, and loved boating and spending time on Lake DuBay with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Karen, their children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, sisters Louise (Henry) Hughlett, Pat (Jerry) Lind, Karyn King, brothers Jim (Jean) King and Rick (Carleen) King, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marlene Simonson.

Cliff will always be remembered for his big smile, his big heart, and his wild golf shorts. He was an incredible husband, father, and grandfather.

The family would like to sincerely thank the bystanders, EMS personnel, and the St. Michael’s Hospital emergency room doctors and nurses for all they did.
